1. Introduction

QuoteTxt LLC ("QuoteTxt," "we," "us," or "our") operates a Software-as-a-Service platform that helps contractors collect project information and generate preliminary, non-binding estimates for home and property services (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you interact with our automated chat interface, upload content, or otherwise use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to facilitate service requests, generate estimates, and connect users with contractors.

A. Personal Information

• Identity Information: name, email address, phone number
• Location Information: service address, city, state, and ZIP code

B. Project & Content Information

• Project Details: descriptions of requested services, preferences, timelines, and budget considerations
• User-Submitted Content: photos, videos, documents, or other files uploaded through the chat interface (e.g., images of appliances, equipment, or work areas)

C. Automated & Technical Information

• Chat Transcripts: complete records of interactions with our automated assistant
• Usage & Device Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, timestamps, and basic usage analytics

D. Account & Social Login Information

• Account Credentials: email/password login details handled by our authentication provider
• Social Login Data: if you sign in with Facebook or Google, we receive basic profile information made available by that provider (such as provider user ID, name, email, and profile image) and authentication metadata required to create and secure your account

3. How We Use Your Information

• Service Operation: capture project details and generate preliminary, informational estimates
• Contractor Referral: transmit your inquiry and related information to the specific contractor associated with the link, landing page, or QR code you used
• AI-Enabled Processing: analyze text and images using automated systems to better understand project scope and generate responses
• Platform Improvement: analyze usage patterns, performance metrics, and system behavior to improve reliability, functionality, and user experience
• Aggregated or De-Identified Data: aggregate, anonymize, or de-identify information such that it no longer identifies any individual or business, and use such data for analytics, benchmarking, research, product development, model training, commercialization, and other lawful business purposes
• Compliance & Protection: maintain security, prevent misuse, enforce terms, and comply with legal obligations

4. Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

1. Service Contractors (Independent Data Controllers)

We share your personal information, project details, and uploaded content with the specific contractor you intended to contact. Once shared, the contractor’s use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies and practices. QuoteTxt is not responsible for contractors’ independent data handling.

2. Artificial Intelligence Service Providers

We use third-party AI service providers to process text and images solely to generate automated responses. These providers are contractually restricted from using non-public data to train or improve their general-purpose models.

3. Cloud & Infrastructure Providers

We use third-party hosting, storage, analytics, and database providers to operate the Service and securely store information, including providers such as Supabase and Vercel.

4. Identity & Authentication Providers

When you choose social sign-in, we share required authentication data with identity providers (such as Meta/Facebook and Google) and our auth infrastructure providers so you can authenticate and access your account.

5. Payment Processors (If Applicable)

If payments or deposits are enabled, payment information is processed directly by third-party PCI-compliant payment processors. QuoteTxt does not store full credit card numbers.

6. Aggregated or De-Identified Information

We may disclose aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that does not identify any individual or business for analytics, benchmarking, research, commercial, or operational purposes.

7. Mobile Opt-In Data

Text messaging originator opt-in data, consent records, and related messaging preferences are not shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Artificial Intelligence Disclosure

• You are interacting with an automated, AI-powered system, not a human.
• Responses and estimates are generated through automated processing without real-time human review.
• All estimates are preliminary, non-binding, and may differ from final contractor pricing.
• The Service does not provide legal, financial, or trade-specific professional advice.

QuoteTxt may use aggregated or de-identified data derived from use of the Service to improve, train, or optimize its own automated systems and models.

6. Data Retention & Security

• Retention: QuoteTxt retains information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, fulfill contractor requests, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
• Security Measures: We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL). No system is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. SMS Communications & Consent

If you provide a phone number and opt in to receive SMS updates, you agree to receive text messages related to your service request, quote, or appointment. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and you can request help by replying HELP.

Contractors may send service updates or job links via SMS when you have given consent, including verbal consent. Consent is not required as a condition of purchase.

8. Your Privacy Rights (United States)

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we collect about you
• Request correction or deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of certain automated processing where applicable

Requests may be routed to the contractor when the contractor controls the data.

If you signed in with Facebook, you can also submit a Facebook-linked data deletion request at /facebook/data-deletion.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

• Right to Know: categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, used, and disclosed
• Right to Delete: request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions
• Right to Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information
• Right to Opt-Out: QuoteTxt does not sell personal information. Where marketing/measurement cookies are used (such as Meta Pixel), you can opt out through cookie preferences.

For clarity, this does not restrict QuoteTxt's use or disclosure of aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that does not constitute personal information under applicable law.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 13 (or under 16 where applicable). QuoteTxt does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
